Costco shoppers are unimpressed with the recently discovered food court hot dog combo.

Recently, some shoppers have noticed that Costco is finally making a change to its best food court item, the hot dog combo.

 There's no need to worry; the hot dog and soda combo is here to stay, and the price isn't going up after all these years. It has been $1.50 since 1985, making it an even better deal over time. However, now you can choose a 16.9-ounce bottle of Kirkland Signature water instead of the 20-ounce soda with the hot dog. While some people may appreciate this new option, others are not very enthusiastic about the first addition to the combo in 41 years.

What are the pros and cons of the new Costco hot dog combo?

The new food court option is obviously better because water has no calories or carbs and no potentially harmful additives, making it a healthier choice than soda. Some people won't like this choice, of course, if they usually drink soda instead of water.

Social media users said that the water combo, which costs the same $1.50, is not as cost-effective from a financial point of view. Costco's food court sells sodas on their own for $0.79, and most Costcos have vending machines that sell bottled water for a quarter. Someone on Instagram said, "It should be $1.25 because the water costs 25 cents, lol." A Reddit user, on the other hand, said, "If you don't drink soda, the 'loss' of money doesn't matter."One thing that worries me a little is that a Costco shopper said their food court took down the vending machine. If this means that the hotdog combo is the only way to get that bottled water (besides buying a multipack in the store), this change might not be so good.
